Members of the Henry Reeve Brigade will begin their return to Cuba

In the next few days, part of the Henry Reeve brigades that provide medical services in more than twenty countries in the fight against COVID-19 will begin to return to Cuba in stages.

This was made known by the President of our country Miguel Díaz-Canel, at the meeting to check the implementation of the measures to confront COVID-19 in Cuba, who announced that upon their arrival these professionals will receive the tribute of their people, as published on the Cubaminrex website.

The president also said that it will be a recognition of those who have played fundamental roles in confronting the pandemic, and highlighted the work of Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health.

In this regard, Vice Minister Rogelio Sierra announced on his Twitter profile that the more than 2,500 professionals from the 28 brigades will return home after providing solidarity assistance in 24 countries in África, the Americas, and Europe.

Before the outbreak of the epidemic, the Caribbean nation already had 28,000 health workers in 59 countries, working alongside the national and medical authorities of each of those states.
